The Berner story begins in Switzerland, where generations of our family perfected the art of cheesemaking in the alpine valleys. Using time-honoured techniques passed down through the family, they crafted cheeses of exceptional quality — cheeses that would eventually make their way to America.

For more than 70 years, Berner has been making high quality Swiss and other cheeses right here in America, continuing the family tradition started several generations ago in Switzerland. Our commitment has always been simple: use the same Old World recipes and techniques, never cutting corners on quality.

In 1975, we introduced Heidi Ann™ — a cheese so beloved for its delicate, sweet, nutty flavour and lacey eye formation that it quickly became a customer favourite and has remained so ever since.

Today, Berner Natural Cheese is bringing our great products directly to your favourite grocery store. We're expanding our line to include even more interesting and tasty varieties, many of which have an emphasis on healthy lifestyle eating — because we believe great cheese and good health go hand in hand.
